<BUYER'S RECOMMENDATION>
This is a wind chime that can be placed in your room. It was originally one of the Buddhist altar implements used in offerings to Buddha, and is a Sanskrit instrument that is rung when the hands are put together. "San" comes from Sanskrit and means "purity" or "sacred." Yamaguchi Hisanobu proposed "Onshingu" as one form of offerings amid the diversification of forms of offerings. "Onshingu" creates a small but special space that expresses prayer and gratitude by freely combining "Ongu" and "Shingu." This wind chime is made by a long-established bell manufacturer founded in the Meiji era. Its tone is particularly delicate and thread-like, unlike that of other companies.

<BRAND RELEASE>

The foundry industry in Takaoka, Toyama has a tradition of about 400 years. Yamaguchi Kyunjo, founded in 1907 and known for its "Kyunjo Orin", produces Buddhist altar implements and musical instruments, following in the footsteps of local industries. In recent years, they have also developed a number of interior design products, hoping to bring the free-flowing, soothing sound of the orin closer to people. "Takaoka copperware" is a traditional craft of Takaoka, Toyama. The roots of the foundry industry date back to the early Edo period, when Maeda Toshinaga, the lord of the Kaga domain, created a special district called "Kanaya" in the castle town and invited seven casters from Kawachi Province (now Osaka Prefecture) to come. This is what Yamaguchi Kotaro, the fourth generation owner of "Yamaguchi Kyunjo", told us. "We started out by casting pots and kettles, but perhaps because the area has a large Buddhist population, we began making Buddhist implements in the mid-Edo period. This has continued as a local industry in Takaoka," he explains. The first president, Yamaguchi Kyunori, also rode this wave and founded Yamaguchi Kyunori Shoten. "I thought that my real name, Kyun, wouldn't work to start a business, so I changed the name to Kyun, and perhaps that's why we've been in business for 117 years."
